The CALL of Marion County recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of its launch. The CALL mobilizes the Church to care for foster children by encouraging, challenging and equipping Christians to become foster parents and support foster families. We help demystify the world of foster care, providing step-by-step guidance and resources that break down the walls often holding people back from getting involved.  If you would like to learn more about fostering, adopting or volunteering, you may check the organization out on Facebook (The CALL of Marion County) or send an e-mail to marioncounty@thecallinarkansas.org

The CALL of Marion County hosted a Valentine’s Day themed appreciation dinner for area Pastors and their wives on Friday, February 16 to familiarize the ministers with the purpose of the CALL to mobilize the Church in Arkansas to love foster children with the extravagant love of Christ. There were approximately 26 individuals in attendance representing congregations from all over Marion County; all of whom came together as one body to address the mission of Marion County foster children. Those in attendance were able to enjoy a delicious meal catered by Ms. Mary Thrash and Ms. Edie Hampton while listening to a beautiful musical arrangement performed by the Sky Meadow Orchestra. Vince Daniel, pastor for Real Life Church in Mountain Home, spoke to the attendees about the importance of the church being involved in our local foster care system as well as his personal experience  with The CALL in the adoption of his daughter and his church’s support and ministry with the CALL.
