3rd Annual Peach Festival 5K

The CALL in Howard County will be holding their 3rd Annual 5K fundraiser on Friday, May 4th at 6:30 p.m. The event is scheduled to take place at The Nashville City Park. Registration fees are $25 per walker/runner. $30 for entries after the April 30th deadline. Every participant will receive a t-shirt and a medal.
We have had a great amount of support from sponsors, both individuals and local businesses. Their contributions will make this event possible and help add to our local Peach Blossom Festival. Each sponsor will be recognized on the back of the t-shirts. Also, we have several volunteers scheduled to help with various duties on race day. Local police and fire stations will provide route assistance and safety, Nashville Junior Auxiliary will provide water stations, and our local radio station will provide music and assist with announcements.
We look forward to a fun-filled evening and would like to encourage you to attend and participate! For more information, please visit our Facebook page or go to https://runsignup.com/Race/AR/Nashville/PeachBlossomFestival5K for registration.
All proceeds from the event will benefit The CALL. We will continue to recruit, train and support the foster families in our county.

Successful Informational Meeting

Howard County recently hosted a successful informational meeting. We appreciate our host churches, Grace Point Mennonite Church and Immanuel Baptist Church. They prepared a wonderful meal and helped serve those in attendance. The meeting was held at The Carter Day Community Center. Approximately 30 people were in attendance.

We invited one of our current foster families to speak and help answer questions. We feel that they give the most helpful insight to those interested in learning more about fostering. We also discussed volunteer opportunities and gave attendees an idea of both present and future plans for our County.

We look forward to hosting another one this month. If you are interested in knowing more about how you can get involved, make plans to attend! See our event listed here on this website or check-out our County Facebook page.

Pajama/Book Drive

We would like to thank Nashville Elementary Students for collecting and donating 188 pairs of pajamas to The CALL in Howard County. Scholastic Books will be matching the donation by giving 188 books, as well. The efforts were such a success, that we plan to share with neighboring children in foster care!

Diaper Drive Success

Howard County had a very successful diaper drive. A special thank you to First Baptist Church and Regions Bank for serving as drop off locations. We appreciate our counties involvement and support. Pictured are Stacia Gibbs, Call Mall Coordinator and Jodi King, County Coordinator.

Update from Howard County

1 Thessalonians 5:24: God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.

We are excited about our progress in Howard County. During the month of August, our first two homes opened and we will have a few more to follow. Although we are still relatively new, we are seeing the progress and God’s work here in our community. We have had an overwhelming amount of response to our CALL Mall needs and we continue to organize and make it work as proficiently as possible. We were able to provide all our school age kids in care with all of the back to school essentials that they needed.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, guidance and understanding within The CALL family! We have a wonderful group to work with and I cannot thank our Howard County Leadership team enough. I have no doubt that God will continue to equip us for the work he has called us to do!
