The CALL in Van Buren County is pleased to introduce our new volunteer County Coordinator, Kenny Wyatt and his wife, Keri Wyatt. Kenny and Keri have been through the PRIDE certification process through The CALL in Van Buren County to open their home as a foster and adoptive home. The Wyatt’s were foster parents many years ago but closed their home when their precious daughter Emma entered the world. Now, Emma is older enough to be a great sister to any child fortunate enough to be placed with the Wyatt family. Kenny is employed by Shirley Independent School District and Clinton ISD employs his wife, Keri. Their passion to help foster children and foster families is genuine. The Wyatts are longtime residents of Van Buren County and intend to take this opportunity to influence others to join in the march to mobilize the church to recruit, train and support Christian families to provide a safe place for the foster children in Van Buren County. They desire to work alongside the leadership team to recruit enough foster families to care for the foster children from Van Buren County. The goal is to have every Christian church actively involved in achieving the mission of The CALL in Arkansas by empowering Van Buren County.
The Call in Van Buren County is working to recruit, train, and support foster and adoptive families. God has called us to take care of the orphans. James 1:27 says, “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans … in their distress.”
There is always the need for families to foster and adopt, but there are plenty of opportunities for volunteers as well. You can support foster and adoptive families through prayer or being a representative for your church. You can also support families by being a certified babysitter or contributing financially each month. If you are interested in fostering, adopting, or volunteering please attend an informational meeting.
As a Christian community, we need to answer THE CALL and take care of the orphans!
