Our First PRIDE Training is complete!

These six families completed our very first class of PRIDE training this past weekend.  We are so excited to see what God has in store for these families.  We had five future CALL foster families and one family training with us for DCFS.  These families attended our October and November Informational Meetings, and one is our very own Laura, and her husband Stan, who serves on our leadership team and as our Financial Coordinator for our local CALL affiliate. We did not know these families well when they came to our first set of informational meetings after we launched in September, but now we have grown to care so much about them and we look forward to loving on them and their families as we support them in the year ahead!

Our three PRIDE trainers, Christy, Amanda and Tara, did a great job on their first PRIDE training, and they put in a lot of long hours over the two weekends with these families and we appreciate them for that!

If you are interested in learning how you can answer the CALL, and become a foster or adoptive parent, or volunteer in Pike or Montgomery County, our next informational meeting is March 13th @ First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro at 6 pm.  We would love to share more about what we are doing to bring foster families to our local area! Register for the next meeting at https://www.tfaforms.com/441691.

The CALL in Pike & Montgomery Counties

The leadership team in Pike & Montgomery Counties

Meet our team: Back row left to right: Stacy Cowart, Sarah Blackmon, Michelle Douglas (state office), Annie Scott, Amanda Bailey.
Seated left to right: Sherri Smith, Tara White, Laura Waggoner.

We are blessed to live in a beautiful part of Arkansas in Pike and Montgomery Counties.

Unfortunately, every day in our counties we have children placed in foster homes due to abuse or neglect. Sadly, we do not have enough foster homes to be able to keep these kids in our county where they can remain in their school and community that cares about them. Currently there are ZERO foster homes in Pike and two homes in Montgomery County. We want to work to change this!

The solution is simple: mobilize the church. God calls Christians to care for the fatherless and orphans. If one family from each of our counties’ churches stepped up to serve, the crisis would be solved.

Together, we can give our children a safe home where they can experience the unconditional love and stability of a family. Will you join us?
