Ministry model

The CALL’s Model for Ministry
The CALL is a 501(c)(3) faith-based non-profit organization with local county affiliates statewide. Our objective is to launch local affiliates in all 75 counties in Arkansas. Our model for ministry provides a framework for recruiting, training, and supporting foster and adoptive families and engaging volunteers. The CALL is a tool for the church to serve the modern day orphan in foster care in Arkansas.

The statewide organization focuses on developing local affiliates through administrative support, training, and technical assistance, all offered to the volunteers and staff of The CALL’s local Affiliates. The statewide organization is governed by a diverse Board of Directors.

The CALL’s local affiliates recruit, train, and support Christian families to meet the needs of children in foster care in local area and connect volunteers with opportunities to serve. Affiliates deliver elements of The CALL’s programs at the local level. All affiliates are led by Christian staff or volunteers who are passionate about ensuring that every child in foster care has a home. Each affiliate is overseen by a local leadership team.

Our Partnership with DCFS
The CALL and the Arkansas Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) enjoy a unique and unprecedented partnership between a faith-based organization and a government agency. The CALL’s volunteers work collaboratively with DCFS staff to move foster and adoptive families through the certification process. The CALL focuses on recruiting, training and shepherding prospective families through the certification process. DCFS screens and approves families, and makes all decision regarding child placements.
